it’s official Blizzard announced Diablo iii.  They’ve been working on it for three years now.  Once again blizzard will amaze the world with the next greatest thing.

Hay thanks for stopping by, not much has been going on around here.  I just ordered a “wincher” bumper for the 4runner from Kennesaw Accessories. It should be here in few weeks, I’ve already gotten a Warn M8000 found here. I’m very pleased with 4wheelparts.com they offered free shipping, and a $50 gift card, from their site.  The great thing with the free shipping is it came out of Dallas, and I had it the next day.  I was expecting it to come on wagon and take 4-6 weeks.

We’re getting new siding on the house this week, that will be nice.  They just finished the new roof, and now to get the fence replaced.  I think we’re going to do the fence ourselves it looks like we just need to replace the planks, and maybe some of the horizontal boards.

I went to Seattle, WA the other week for a conference, and tried to get home the day the FCC grounded all the American Airlines planes.  I will give it to AA for handling things pretty well.  We stood in line for about 45min to get a flight on another airline.  The other airline couldn’t get their plane started, then missed the approach in Kansas City, this put us 30 min late and missed out connecting flight with a third airline. Then we had to stay the night in Kansas City,and try again the next day with a 7:00am flight.  Well AR was experiencing tornadoes’ v3.0 with the flooding package. This canceled that flight into LR, so they wanted us to wait until 12:30 for a flight to Atlanta with a connecting into LR arriving at 5:30pm.  Nope, don’t think so…we got a rental and drove making it home about 2:30pm.  I was sick the next four days with a high temp and to this days I’m still fighting a chest cold.

Next year’s conference is in Las Vegas, I’m riding the Harley.

I’ve been working on a media center box for several years now, just a side project. It’s a P4 3.6 1gig, 250hdd and 180hdd. I was mainly using the box to back-up documents and pictures. I’d also been ripping connor’s dvds to avi to prevent excessive ware on the disks. Finely I bought a new nvidia 8800gt for my machine, and put the ati x800 pro in the mce box. Now I was able to play movies in media center, I had a GeForce 4 ti4200 to old for mce. I hadn’t bought a tuner card because I had been using directTV and recently moved to digital cable. Well about two weeks ago Connor started watching World World on PBS, excellent show, but only comes on at 6:00am, we’re up then, but it’s not on during the weekend. That’s when J said, for about the 4th or 5th time that she wishes she could record shows. You know what that means to the techie, it’s time to buy a tuner card. I went with the Hauppauge 1600 from newegg.com this thing’s great I just plugged the cable into it, did a wizard in mce and had my tv guide. I’ve even started recording t.v. shows for little man. Maybe I’ll get to use it for myself…

The new year is in full affect. Christmas was a blast, he really got into the opening of presents so much he didn’t really care about the gift just opening something.  The main things he got, not to leave anyone or anything out, he’s been playing with everything.  He really got allot of tools this year, Santa brought him a Black and Decker work bench, and a remote control tow mater.

His birthday was a blast we had it at the Jump Zone, great place for parties.  we themed his birthday to Thomas and Friends, the wood ones.  These are toys we all enjoy, and go to the book stores that have the train sets for kids to play with.  These this really stand up to the abuse.  Just think how many kids are playing with these trains and they hold up to it.

I don’t know whats gotten into me, I  haven’t been taking many pictures, and those that i have  take I haven’t done any post processing.  I think it has to do with the new job.  I’m in front of a computer all day working and hate to do it at night to.  If I’m on this thing at home it’s just to play the latest game, and check up on a few things.

I just got a 2gig thumb drive for $20 then went to http://www.pendrivelinux.com where they have step by step instructions for installing many difference flavors of Linux on thumb drives; I installed Ubuntu 7.10.  Some great features about booting from a thumb drive is it’s your OS configured how you want it, you can save changes, install apps, and updates; then take it with you. The wife’s siblings got together for family photos.  I’m happy we don’t do that every year.  This is actually the first time we’ve done that.  It took about 45 minutes to get one picture, what still looked like crap.  There’s enough of a gap between two people on the back row to add another person in the future.  Of the four kids in the picture, 3 boys and 1 girl; Connor was the only well behaved boy, and my niece was excellent, like me she wanted to get this over with.  I think they had to take about 15 shots because someone either looked away, blinked, or one of the kids was acting up.  The picture they decided on was the one picture where Connor was looking at the ceiling, because the lady taking the pictures said “look up.”

Saturday Jamie helped her parent’s move all the furniture out of their house so they could have new flooring installed.  At one point they were getting ceramic tiles installed, but I don’t know what they finally decided on.

Saturday night we took Connor to the Garvan Woodland Gardens to look at their Christmas lights, we had a very good time, I took the Hulga camera, and hope to my pictures developed this week.  The pictures taken with the Nikon look okay, I didn’t take the time to compose I just snapped a frame here and there.

Sunday night out church had their Christmas festival, lots of games, food and activities.  The first thing Connor won was a little pinwheel, that worked out great, the rest of the night he didn’t care about all the cookies and candy.
